Best Business Practice Ltd is undertaking exactly that.  We have taken business principles that have been proven over the years to work, taken from some of the best research available globally and is known to work.  The things which aren’t normally put into place that makes the whole unit gel like a well oiled machine.  No fancy idea’s, some improvements are what we practice.  Some of the principles that we work with are those that we have found to work ourselves through vast experience in small and medium sized business.

Bill Scott 

Bill has incorporated 34 years of business experience into the Best Business program along with knowledge gleaned from some of the world’s best in terms of research of procedures that work.

Manufacturing

Bill's experience in business is real and in 1989, started a manufacturing company in HK and manufactured electronics and plastic injection moulding in Shenzhen and Guangzhou, China.  Over the next 10yrs built the company from a one man band to having 38 staff in HK and controlling at some stages up to 6 factories in China, implemented ISO for quality which was run at less than 2% fail rate.  Learnt first hand the benefits of "Just in Time" manufacturing and its ability to increase productivity, profitability and meeting crucial time schedules.  Without these systems our growth rate would have been impeded through holding inventory which inturn requires intense capital.  This system also allowed us to meet crucial shipping times which were conditional upon letters of credit being honoured. 

International Marketing

The company found markets in USA (home shopping), UK (mail order and retail), Germany (retail), France, Canada, Colombia, Philippines, Malaysia, Dubai and Australia. Only with exact systems and procedures, aggressive marketing and determination were they able to succeed in International markets.  Marketing was undertaken by Bill which meant that the manufacturing systems had to be running to perfection.  

Brand Management

The brand was built from scratch, first obtaining trademarks in NZ and then registering it world-wide, everything was marketed to the brand, which allowed us to introduce many other products under the label, initial marketing created momentum and the brand and management kept it.

In 2001 the company and brand were sold to their biggest buyers from the UK.  At that stage the company had 18 products in its stable and Bodi-Tek is still a very strong brand name in Europe.

In Asia, there is no such thing as debentures or overdrafts, you’re left on your own to sink or swim, and there are lots of sharks out there.  The Asian part of his business experience was started on a capital base of NZD 8000

Bill’s 34yrs in business wasn't just in manufacturing and international sales. 

Hospitality

Being a self taught chef, he has had restaurants in NZ.  Started and ran Pubs, The Old China Hand Tavern, Wanchai, HK and Two Black Sheep, Phuket, both with food and entertainment awards, all with happy sales and still going strong.

Finance, Management and Insurance

Bill has had finance and management Companies in NZ, ran sales teams and sold within the insurance industry.  Rating as one of the top 5% of insurance brokers worldwide who attain the status of Million Dollar Round Table membership.

Bill returned to NZ in 2007, did strategic work, under contract for Results Group for 12 months and then felt it was time to give back to the business he loves, business.

An avid motorhead, in Asia he has raced an RS 911 Porche, a Caterham and Go Karts, a highlight was the Macau Grand Prix Super Car race, but he now settles for the odd jaunt on his Harley.
